Nissan Micra - BOOKINGS OPEN NOW

Japanese auto major Nissan is planning to launch its most-awaited premium hatchback model Nissan Micra in the Indian market on July 14, 2010. Nissan has aggressive plans to launch Nissan Micra in the Indian market and it has recently set-up its manufacturing plant at Oragadam near Chennai under a joint venture with Renault with an investment of Rs 4,500 crore. This new manufacturing plant has been set up with a capacity to produce 4 lacs unit of car per year but Nissan will initially produce only two lacs unit of cars.

Nissan Micra is known as Nissan March in the Japanese market but it's Indian version is christened as Nissan Micra. The company official said that Nissan plans to launch seven new models from its product portfolio in the Indian market by next four to five years.



Nissan Micra will be launched in the Indian market with 4 petrol engine variants, with manual transmission. The petrol variants of Nissan Micra would come with a 1.2L, 1198cc petrol engine that produces 76PS of power and 104 Nm of torque.



The four Nissan Micra variants are: Nissan Micra XE, Nissan Micra XE Plus, Nissan Micra XL and Nissan Micra XV.



The industry sources put the likely price of the base version of the hatchback below Rs 4 lakh.

Nissan Motor India, which recently roped in Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor as brand ambassador, had started bookings of the car in end of May and has so far received more than 1000 orders.
