Mobile Number Portability (MNP) claims that, you can shift to another operator of your choice, but keep your old number. Best is, you don’t have to go through the trouble of informing all your friends & family that your number has changed - it stays the same
But it really works?
MNP process takes more time, Operators says it will take 7 days, but it taking more than 10 days.
An operator says you will get message in midnight after 6 days that your operator got changes; you can try after 2-3 hours. Means your phone will not work for 3 hours.
But in reality they will not send you any SMS, and your phone can get disconnected any time in the day.
After this you can make outgoing calls, but incoming still has technical issues.
And you will not receive any calls. Your number becomes invalid for caller.
I tried MNP and my number is still invalid from last two days.
